“I Of The Storm” is the 2nd single off of Beneath The Skin, the 2nd studio album by Of Monsters And Men
Of Monsters and Men’s debut album My Head Is An Animal was…fantastic. Four solid singles and the rest of the album grew on you. It was a platinum album in several countries and did well on album and single charts. It was a picture perfect debut album. One that propels a new band into the spotlight and on the brink of superstardom. Have you heard of the sophomore slump or sophomore curse? I am usually pretty positive and optimistic but I don’t have a good feeling about this upcoming new album from them. The first two singles are good but they are no “Little Talks” or “King and Lionheart”. Maybe it’s just me. Maybe this album will actually be better than their debut but wont have the radio-friendly singles. Maybe it will go down as one of those over-hyped, highly-anticipated albums that end up being terribly underrated (think Sam’s Town by The Killers).
You vote. Better chance of the album being underrated or a sophomore slump? Sound off in the comments section at the end of the post and tweet @MusicTrajectory
