Jake Bugg ‘What Doesn’t Kill You’ – The Song of the Week for 10/14/2013

Released September 23, 2013 via Island Records, “What Doesn’t Kill You” is the lead single from Shangri La, the 2nd studio album by Jake Bugg

Genre: Indie Rock, Garage Rock Revival, Singer-Songwriter

At only 19 years old and already readying his 2nd studio album, the sky is the limit for this young chap from the UK. “What Doesn’t Kill You” is a barn-burner and definitely the hardest edged song of his career so far. Perhaps it was the infamous Rick Rubin, the producer of the new album, that suggested he go in more of a garage rock/alternative direction. I for one love the new song – a lot more than anything off his first album, including the hit song “Lightning Bolt”.

What are your thoughts on the new song? Will this new sound bring more popularity? Comment below and tweet me @MusicTrajectory

“What doesn’t kill ya
What doesn’t hurt
Sometimes you feel you’re up against the world
What doesn’t kill ya
What doesn’t break
This life it seems
To bring you to your knees
You try you bleed then finally you breathe”
