Cold War Kids ‘Miracle Mile’ – The Song of the Week for 6/17/2013
Released on February 5th, 2013 via Downtown Records, “Miracle Mile” is the official lead single for Cold War Kid’s 4th studio album Dear Miss Lonelyhearts
Genre: Indie, Indie Rock
It seems like fans and critics are much more into Dear Miss Lonelyhearts than Cold War Kid’s last album Mine Is Yours, which received mixed reviews. I am not a die-hard fan of the band yet but I personally think that “Miracle Mile” is one of the best songs of the year so far. How this song hasn’t wound up on the radio yet is astounding to me. How does “Miracle Mile” stack up against past singles? What are your thoughts on the new album? Sound off in the comments section below!
“I was supposed to do great things
I know the road was long
But I wasn’t raised to shoot for fame
I had the safety onI cut my ties, I sold my rings
I wanted none of this
To start from scratch, you have to sing
Just for the fun of itI’d be alright if I could just see you
Come up for air, come up for air
Oh miracle mile, where does it lead to?
Come up for air, come up for air”
