The Interrupters “A Friend Like Me” – The Song of the Week for 8/19/2013
“A Friend Like Me” is the first single and video to be released by The Interrupters
Genre: Ska, Ska Punk, Punk Rock, Reggae
I’ve been a fan of Ska music for a long time and I have to say: I am pretty excited about this band. I’m pretty excited just to make a post about them because they are about to blow up! Yeah, that’s right, we will be seeing a lot more of this band in the months to come. The Interrupters are still very underground and there isn’t much info on them around the web.
I came across them when I saw them open up for Rancid and Transplants back on July 29th, 2013 at The House of Blues here in San Diego. I was really impressed! I am thinking to myself, I gotta check out this band! Low and behold, they have nothing on Spotify and only a few songs on Youtube. As of this writing, they don’t even have an EP or full length album out yet!
What a great way to start out: go on tour with the legendary Rancid. I spotted that The Interrupter’s guitarist also plays bass for Transplants and came out and played the organ for a few Rancid songs. Talk about a talented young chap.
If you are a fan of the genre, sound off in the comments section on if you think this band has the potential I think it does. Also tweet me @MusicTrajectory
